Rise
By The Lyricist
I woke up again today.
Now everything's blurry.
Remember a bottle of pills,
and a heart full of worries.
I'm unworthy.
To the people who heard me,
I wish that I could tell them
They don't deserve me.
I wish that I could
Try and apologize
For all of my broken ties,
Lies, and alibis.
I wish that I could rise
Like the tides,
But I'm in disguise
As a guy
Who still has hope in his eyes.
I stay up till it's late,
Yet all I feel this pressure
To put a pen onto a page,
Now with every letter,
I'm getting better.
But it's hard to remember
Being put back together.
... I fell apart in the weather.
I don't know whether or not
I'm better or not,
But I know
Never to stop,
I'll get to the top,
Cus you know
I'm not gonna drop.
I'm caught,
And when this opportunity comes,
You know I'm taking my shot!
Look, no one said that
It was gonna be easy,
But believe me,
I'm succeeding.
Doing nothing's beneath me,
And I'll be reaching
For my dreams
Until the day I stop breathing.
I'm only human?
Stop assuming!
Looks can be deceiving.
I want my life back.
I'm scared of facing my demons.
Stop thinking like that!
You'll be stuck down on your knees and
Begging and pleading,
Thinking you'll never be anything, and
Every dream you ever had
Will float away with the breeze,
And you're gonna wake up one day
With your whole life behind you,
And every time you see a mirror,
It's gonna remind you
That you couldn't find you,
And now you're losing your mind too,
And you'll be thinking man,
What did I do?
As time moves on and passes by,
The guy who once had everything in his eyes,
Despite he was never even
Willing to try,
Despised the life
For which he wasn't willing to die,
But not I.
I'm gonna rise
Because the people around me
Give me the strength to make the sound
That's breaking down all my boundaries.
It's how I found me.
I'll never let them tell me they're better.
I can break, but those who love me
Put me right back together!
I had to cast a broken past
Because I know where my heart is.
I'd walk a path of broken glass
Before I say I don't got it.
I'll scream and shout till I get out,
I'll get there, I'm a smart kid,
And when in doubt,
I'll think about where I started.
