Valentines Day Waltz

On a cold winters day
In a small country church
On a hill
Not far from our town

We gathered back then
Before family and friends
To start a new life
On our own

In an old gingham dress
That your Grandmother wore
And me in a suit
Way too small

The old ring that I carried
My Mother had cherished
While you took my hand
As well as my name

The vows that we made
