Lost in love, so safe and sound
I would not care even if I’m found
A passion play that goes on and on
To stand upright and be so strong
That’s the way I want to feel

Is that too much to ask
Such a monumental task
I’ve heard it said before
You should never ask for more
What is wrong with me

An open heart like an open book
To fall in love with just one look
To tell my secrets with no alibis
To see just me locked within your eyes
To hear my name like I’ve never heard
To live my days like it’s now my turn
To move from loss without the fear
To be brave enough to hold you near
Is that too much to ask
For one simple dance
You can leave when the music fades
I’ve got nothing to trade
Just a single rhyme and tune
While I try to reach for you
I know that that’s not much
