These Are The Times
By Dave Hanna
THESE ARE THE TIMES
These are the times
That try my soul
These are the times
That try my soul
I saw someone today, who I thought was you
It was the way she looked, as she left the room
A memory reached back from long long ago
All because she turned her head just so
A woman cries and I look her way
It sounded just like you, just like yesterday
A familiar voice comes from down the hall
Just another memory to haunt me, that's all
I hear a laugh and suddenly I can't breathe
For just that moment, I can see
Some that said, they just had to go
Somehow I forgot, you left years ago
These are the times
That try my soul
These are the times
That try my soul
You're the one I can't seem to forget
The one that I won't forget yet
For just that instant, it sounded like you
And one more time I turn away
Feeling like a fool
I remember the way you looked, when you walked away
You left a debt, that I continue to pay
When you turned your back, you didn't even cry
Do you ever think of me, and how hard I tried
When lovers dance and music plays
In the quiet times and in simple ways
That's when I miss you the most
I am so tired of chasing your ghost
These are the times
That try my soul
These are the times
That try my soul
