MUSIC FOR SALE

I sit alone inside these walls
And contemplate the reason for it all
I was young, I was a fool
I didn’t study very much at school
If I wanted it I took it, when they caught me I said shove it
And I couldn’t seem to live within the rules
But sometimes it makes me laugh
How I took this awful path
And my time will soon be done
With the setting of the sun.

It wasn’t mine, I didn’t care
I just told them that I wasn’t even there
It was for sale or so they say
But I’ve got it and I didn’t even pay
And if I wanted it I took it, when they caught me I said shove it
I just didn’t mean to take his life that day
But he caught me unawares
And he hadn’t said his prayers
And my time is nearly done
With the setting of the sun.

He took me by surprise and I couldn’t believe his size
I turned around to run but he pulled out his gun
I knocked him to the ground and he died without a sound
I jumped into his car and I just took it
And as I drove away I thought shove it.
